Beetroot fry / Beetroot Poriyal




Ingredients:

·        Beetroot- 250 gm
·        Grated coconut- ¼ cup
·        Fennel seeds- ½ tsp
·        Poppy seeds (Khas khas) - ½ tsp
·        Onion- ¼ cup
·        Garlic -3
·        Sugar- 2 tsp
·        Edible oil- 3 tsp
·        Chili powder-1tsp
·        Salt to taste

Method of preparation:

·        Peel the skin of beetroot and cut it into small cubes.
·        Grind coconut, fennel seeds, and poppy seeds into a fine paste and further add onion and garlic and grind a little.
·        Mix this ground masala with beetroot and add salt.
·        Cook till beetroot becomes soft.
·        Add sugar and oil.
·        Fry till all the masala firmly coat on it.


Serve with cooked rice or chapati.
